I know I said that the apple picking was almost over but take a look at the apples on this tree. Photograph taken today the first day of Advent.
Actually these Idared apples have been left deliberately by the proprietors of the Orchard Tea Room & Farm Shop. The tree is on the edge of their car park and customers like to take photographs of this wonderful sight.
Other Record the Day posts:
Do you Know what type they are? As they're quite pretty - do they taste good?
ReplyDeleteYes, they are Idared, a dual purpose apple that can be used for cooking as well as eating. V. good keeper, the flavour improving with age.
ReplyDeleteI'll put that on my list to get then. Thanks!
DeleteIf you're looking for a dual purpose apple I'd take a look at Howgate Wonder it has a lovely flavor and you can start harvesting as early as August. Don't pick the whole tree, take what you need as and when and finish picking sometime in October.
DeleteThey look and sound like an ideal apple. Flighty xx
